18 Months - Logan

Age: 18 months old (January 27, 2016)

Weight: 22 lbs (20th Percentile)

Length: 31 1/4 inches (17th Percentile)

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Logan is in Size 4 diapers. He has almost grown out of 12 month onesies and is in mostly 18 month clothes.

Hair: Light Brown/Blonde!

Sleep: Logan is such a great sleeper and hardly ever wakes up at night. He goes to bed between 7:30-8 and we usually get him up around 7:15 everyday to get him ready for daycare. He still takes 1-2 naps a day.

Eating: Logan has been a picky eater since about 13 months. He is very selective on what he will eat but his favorites are still bananas (he eats at least 1-2 a day), applesauce, toast with peanut butter or jam, chicken nuggets, black beans, cheese, yogurt, and milk.

Teeth: Logan has 14 teeth!!! 6 on bottom and 8 on top!

Milestones: Logan went pee in the potty when he was 17 months old. He hasn't gone since then, but we'll start potty training when he is ready. When you ask him to do something he will usually follow your directions... "go throw your diaper away," "go get your shoes," "bring me a book," "get your toothbrush."

Loves: sucking his thumb, books, Little Einsteins, the movie Home, fruit, bananas, going "buh bye", going to the grocery store, pushing daddy's skateboard, playing outside, parks, taking baths, and playing with other kids toys.

Hates: having his face washed and getting buckled in his car seat.

Words/sounds: Oh his vocabulary is flourishing. Ball, momma, dada, poo-poo, buh bye, thank you (da doo), more, no, car, uhh oh, jesus (sus), juice, co-co (cookie), mine, shoe, rawr, baby, and many more...I'll add to the list when I remember.

Check out my Instagram (@kellyjalayneboyd) for pictures and videos of him.

Nicknames: Still Logey and Bogey.

Funny/Cute Moments: When Logan passes gas or when he knows he has a poopy diaper he says poo-poo :)

Logan turns ONE!

I cannot believe that Logan is already one year old!!! Time has flown by so fast and he is constantly learning and teaching us something new. We have definitely had many challenges over this past year, but we try every day to be the best parents we can be for Logan!

Age: 12 months old

Weight: 18 lbs. 12.5 oz (10th Percentile)

Length: 29 inches (10th Percentile)

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Logan is still in Size 3 diapers, but will be moving to Size 4 very soon! He is in 9 month clothing right now!

Eyes: Still very blue, like his momma!

Hair: Light Brown/Sandy Blonde!

Sleep: Logan is such a great sleeper and sleeps through the night, most nights. Occasionally he'll wake up for a diaper change or a little milk, but that's usually only once a week.

Eating: Logan loves food! He's eating everything we eat and has been pretty good at trying new things! He does like to throw food off his tray when he doesn't want it, but we're working on that.

Teeth: Logan has 7 teeth and his bottom molars are coming in.

Milestones: Walking, walking, and more walking! He can walk across the room without falling and is getting better every day!

Loves: eating, sucking his thumb, swimming, showers with daddy, sleeping on his stomach, all of his books/toys, crinkly things/things that make noise, going on walks outside with mommy, when daddy comes home from work.

Hates: being cold, diaper changes in the middle of the night, and getting buckled in his car seat.

Words/sounds: Says "dada" and "momma".

Check out my Instagram (@kellyjalayneboyd) for pictures and videos of him.

Nicknames: Logey, Bogey, Mr. Logey, Mr. Bogey.

Funny/Cute Moments: Logan loves to help with different things around the house! He will pick up his leggos and put them in his basket and also find blocks under the couch and pull them out :)

Since we don't have any family close by, we decided to have a family birthday party with just Steve and I. After Steve got home from work we get to go get dinner at a restaurant in town and came home to eat cupcakes! After munching on cupcakes Logan opened his presents! He loves all of his new toys!!

At the restaurant

Opening his presents
Logan got a bag full of blocks, an elephant sorter (you put different shapes on the elephant and it comes out the tusk), some books, and clothes. Grandma and Grandpa Stanley got Logan a giraffe tricycle, he loves it!! I don't see a picture of it on my camera, but I know I have one of him on it...I will have to include it on a future post.

He was pretty tired by the time he got his cupcake

But he LOVED the frosting and make a pretty big mess

 YUM! Happy Birthday Logan!!

Grandpa and Grandma Boyd came a couple of weeks later to drop off his presents and it was like it was his birthday all over again! He loved all the attention and opening new things! He got a big inflatable kiddie pool, 2 wobble toys, sandals, a wood train,  and I think I'm forgetting something else but can't remember!

 Logan LOVES his pool!!!

And that wraps up Logan's 1st Birthday! Even though Logan won't remember his 1st year of his life, Steve and I will. I can tell you it has probably been the craziest year of my life, but the best year of my life as well. Logan has brought so much joy into our lives and I really can't remember much of life without him. He really completes our little family right now.

Logan has been a perfect 1st child.....(now that I say that all of our future children are going to be complete opposite of him). The newborn phase was a little rough, but things got better and we are pretty much living on cloud 9 right now. Lets walk through the past year, shall we....It all started out bringing home a newborn from the hospital and then started the lack of sleep (adjusting from uninterrupted sleep to being woken up multiple times a night), breastfeeding (that was a whole new HARD adjustment as well), whole schedules being thrown off, hundreds of diapers being changed, house always messy, throw in giggles/smiles, then more sleeping/nap after nap after nap, doctors visits, ER visits, cranky teething baby, exciting milestones (rolling over, first baby food, crawling, walking), first words, etc. . This past year has been CRAZY, but exciting as well!! It has been the fastest year of my life and I just want time to slow down!!

I thank God every day for the miracle little boy we have been given. Steve and I knew when we wanted to start trying for our first baby and the timing for everything worked out perfectly. We got pregnant right away (miracle #1) after stopping the pill and my pregnancy was perfect as well. {some women aren't as fortunate as we were and I love and pray for them too, I hope everyday that they will get their miracle baby} I didn't have any complications (miracle #2), I was healthy, Logan was healthy, and the end result was a perfect boy (miracle #3). My delivery was perfect as well (miracle #4), and some aren't as fortunate as I was going through that. I really don't have anything horrible to say about my first pregnancy, it went as well as it could have gone (I mean I wish labor could go without the contractions, but then it wouldn't be called "labor" right?)

The things about Logan that I hope to remember forever at this stage in his life:
      - smiles flashed at me
      - calling out "momma" from across the room when he needs something
      - kisses (this is one of the things that throws me off guard because they are so random, but they melt my heart)
     - when he is standing up and reaches up for me to pick him up
     - snuggles (these moments are rare nowadays, but I savor the moments when it happens)
     - running to me after I come home from grocery shopping/work/ (LOVE THIS)

Logan's personality is really blooming right now and he is becoming such an independent toddler. He doesn't really like to be "helped" doing things. He'd rather just walk on his own than you holding his hand "leading" him.  He is becoming such a "talker" lately and will say the most random things. He has his noises for when he wants something and when he doesn't want something. He gets excited about the cutest things (animals, lights, babies, things that make noise, etc.).

I am so grateful that my family is for all eternity and I get to spend MANY more years with Logan and Steve. Logan will forever be my baby and I hope I remember these moments for the rest of my life. As for Baby #2....you are going to have to wait a little bit for that announcement. We are not pregnant yet, nor are we trying. We both still need a little more time and I'm perfectly fine with Logan being an only child for a little while longer. Steve and I are still trying to get on our feet after our first baby and I can't imagine throwing another one in the mix just yet.

10 Months Old

This kid is getting harder and harder to take still pictures of! He is just all over the place! I went through 4 different toys just to keep his attention.

Age: 10 months old

Weight: 17 lbs. 4 oz (7th Percentile)

Length: 28 1/2 inches (34th Percentile)

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Logan is still in Size 3 diapers. He is in 6 month and 6-9 month clothes right now!

Eyes: Still very blue, like his momma!

Hair: Light Brown! His hair is getting so long, it's hard to manage. Some days I don't know what to do with it. We have to give him a bath every day because he looks like an orphan if we don't :)

Sleep: Logan is such a great sleeper and usually only wakes up once a night....sometimes he sleeps all the way through the night, which is amazing! He usually takes 2 naps every day, sometimes 3.

Eating: Logan loves food! He now will grab food off of our plates if we're sitting right next to him...we now have to be careful lol!

Caught this cute video of Logan sneaking food from Daddy while he was home for lunch one day!

Teeth: Logan has 2 teeth (he is cutting the 3rd) on bottom and 4 teeth on top! My baby has 7 teeth!!!

Milestones: As if crawling wasn't crazy enough, Logan is pulling himself up onto everything. He will occasionally get fussy when he is stuck and can't get down. He has pulled his hands off of things and stood there for a few seconds, but nothing too long for me to freak out about lol :)

Loves: sucking his thumb, showers with daddy, sleeping on his stomach, all of his books, crinkly things/things that make noise, going on walks outside with mommy, when daddy comes home from work.

Hates: being cold, diaper changes in the middle of the night, waiting for his bottle to be ready, and getting buckled in his car seat.

Words/sounds: Says "dada" and "momma". We were at church last week and when Steve left Sunday school to go to Priesthood, Logan looked at Steve with a sad/concerned expression and said "da-da". It was the CUTEST thing!!

Check out my Instagram (@kellyjalayneboyd) for pictures and videos of him.

Nicknames: Still Logey and Bogey.

Funny/Cute Moments: Logan LOVES his daddy. He used to be such a momma's boy, but now loves when Steve comes home for lunch or gets home from work. He gets the biggest smile on his face and immediately reaches out for daddy.

9 Months Old

 I love our happy boy!!!

Age: 9 months old (as of Monday)

Weight: 16 lbs 7 oz - 5th Percentile

Length: 28 1/2 inches - 57th Percentile

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Logan is still in Size 3 diapers. He is in 6 month and 6-9 month clothes right now!

Eyes: Still very blue, like his momma!

Hair: Light Brown! His hair is getting so long, it's hard to manage. Some days I don't know what to do with it. We have to give him a bath every day because he looks like an orphan if we don't :)

Sleep: Logan is such a great sleeper and usually only wakes up once or twice a night. He drinks his bottle, we change his diaper, and then he falls back to sleep in his crib. When it is time for him to go to bed (around 7:30/8:00 pm) we lay him in his crib and he falls asleep on this own. We don't have to rock him to sleep or sing to him or anything for him to drift off. He's such a good baby!

Eating: Logan is eating solid foods so well. He loves ALL fruits and only likes a couple veggies. New foods we've tried recently are kiwi, blackberry, mashed potatoes, and yogurt.

Teeth: Logan has 2 teeth on bottom and 2 teeth on top (his 4th one is just coming through). Teething is not my favorite....

Milestones: Logan is crawling EVERYWHERE and getting into EVERYTHING! We haven't bought a baby gate yet, but will need to soon because he loves going in the kitchen when we don't want him to. He has started to pull himself up onto things but hasn't really been successful at standing all the way up.

Loves: sucking his thumb, showers with daddy, sleeping on his stomach, all of his books, crinkly things/things that make noise, going on walks outside with mommy, when momma and daddy come home from work.

Hates: being cold, diaper changes in the middle of the night, waiting for his bottle to be ready, and getting buckled in his car seat.

Words/sounds: He loves babbling and he is also getting so close to saying certain words. Says "da-da" all the time.

Check out my Instagram (@kellyjalayneboyd) for pictures and videos of him.

Nicknames: Still Logey and Bogey.

Funny/Cute Moments: Last Thursday I got home from work at 8:30 pm and Logan wouldn't go to sleep for Steve so when I walked in the door Logan gave me the biggest smile and crawled right over to me. It was the cutest thing!!!

8 Months Old

Age: 8 months old

Weight: 16 lbs. - 6th Percentile

Length: 28 inches - 57th Percentile

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Logan is still in Size 3 diapers. He is in 3-6 month and 6 month clothes right now!

Eyes: Still very blue, like his momma!

Hair: Light Brown! His bald spot on the back of his head is finally filled in since he is usually on his stomach now.

Sleep: Logan usually only wakes up once or twice a night. We've been wanting to sleep train, but he's really low on weight and he still needs those night feedings. Right after he eats he goes right back to bed, which is nice.

Eating: Logan is still eating solid foods so well. He loves ALL fruits and only likes a couple veggies. He doesn't like peas and green beans. Logan is still eating pureed food most of the time and will get mashed/soft chunks of fruits and veggies occasionally. I can tell he is progressing with solids so maybe we'll try introducing new textures soon.

Teeth: Logan has 2 bottom teeth.

Milestones: Logan has progressed in so many areas this month and is changing so much. He can sit up by himself (hardly ever falling over) and he is VERY close to crawling. He is starting to move his knee partially forward so I can tell he's getting there....he just hasn't mastered moving his hands forward with his knees.

Loves: sucking his thumb, showers with daddy, sleeping on his stomach, his Wheels on the Bus book and when we sing it to him, getting into EVERYTHING, crinkly things/things that make noise, and going on walks outside with mommy.

Hates: being cold, diaper changes in the middle of the night, waiting for his bottle to be ready, and getting buckled in his car seat.

Words/sounds: He loves babbling and he is also getting so close to saying certain words. I've caught him saying "hi", "bye", and "mama", but I don't think he really realizes he is saying it.

Check out my Instagram (@kellyjalayneboyd) for pictures and videos of him.

Nicknames: Still Logey and Bogey.

Funny/Cute Moments: On Saturday I came home from work around 4:45 pm. Logan was down for his nap and Steve told me he would be up soon. Once I heard Logan making noises I headed toward his room to go get him. I got in his room and once Logan realized I was home from work he started flailing his arms, smiling, laughing, and making a ton of noises because he was so excited I was home. It was the cutest thing and it definitely made me so happy to be his mommy. Logan is such a momma's boy and lights up whenever I walk into the room or when he realizes I'm home from work for the day.

7 Months Old

Age: 7 months old (as of the 27th of February)

Weight: 15 lbs 6 oz - 5th Percentile

Length: 27 1/2 inches - 57th Percentile

Size (Diapers, Onesies, Etc.): Logan is still in Size 3 diapers. He is in 3-6 month and 6 month clothes right now!

Eyes: Still very blue, like his momma!

Hair: Light Brown! His hair is getting so long.

Sleep: Logan usually only wakes up once a night now. It is so nice to actually get more sleep! He goes to bed around 7:30 pm, wakes up between 1-3 am for a feeding, and then wakes up between 8-10 am each morning for the day.

Eating: Logan is eating like a champ now! He drinks between 25-30 oz of formula a day, eats solid food for breakfast and dinner, and has a snack around lunch time. He loves all fruits, only likes a few veggies (sweet potatoes and carrots are his favorite), and usually has cheerios and cut up fruit for snack time.

Teeth: I just noticed last night that Logan is cutting one of his bottom teeth. Took long enough! I have been thinking he has been teething for the past couple of months and nothing has come through until just last night. I never would have guessed a tooth was coming through because he has been happy. I noticed it as I was getting him ready for dinner.

Milestones: Logan is able to sit up for a long time when I put him in a sitting position. I think he loves being able to see everything from a different view. He can't sit himself up on his own, but if I put him on his bottom he'll stay there. Logan is still rolling over everywhere and is getting really close to crawling. I just noticed him on his hands and knees the yesterday, but he just rocks back and forth and hasn't figured out how to move himself forward while he's up on his hands and knees.

Loves: sucking his thumb, bath time/showers with daddy, being tickled under his chin/around his neck, sleeping on his stomach, his Wheels on the Bus book and when we sing it to him, his exersaucer and playing in it, his Sophie, chewing on anything and everything, and crinkly things/things that make noise.

Hates: being cold, diaper changes in the middle of the night, waiting for his bottle to be ready, and getting buckled in his car seat.

Words/sounds: He also loves babbling and I think he's really close to saying his first real words instead of just sounds. Recently all he has been saying is "Ba". Check out my Instagram (@kellyjalayneboyd) for pictures and videos of him.

Nicknames: Still Logey and Bogey.

Funny Moments: Steve put Logan in his pj's and set him on top of a shirt he was wearing earlier that day and a few minutes later his arm was put through his shirt arm hole. It looked so funny!
