Week 38 Update

Well this will probably be my last pregnancy post before having this baby....unless I make it past 40 weeks without having him. I feel like I've posted every week, but this pregnancy just seemed to fly by and we are so close to meeting our son.

HOW FAR ALONG? 38 Weeks + 1 day

COUNTDOWN: 13 days or 1 week 6 days!

DUE DATE: July 28th

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN:  24 lbs.

MATERNITY CLOTHES: yes and I just want to be out of them already

STRETCH MARKS: sadly, yes

SLEEP: ok.....except for the getting up once or twice a night to pee and switching sides. i am able to sleep in almost every morning and take a nap when I need it

BEST MOMENTS: putting the finishing touches on his nursery and talking with Steve about how our life is going to change in just a few short weeks with this new baby

MOVEMENT: yes, yes....all the time!

FOOD CRAVINGS: peanut butter on oreos and fruity desserts/shakes

SYMPTOMS: swollen ankles/feet, itchy stomach, frequent urination, always hot

LABOR SIGNS: as of today, i am 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, pretty sure I lost my mucus plug (TMI?), braxton hicks contractions within the past few days (nothing consistent)....and a few other things but TMI to share. baby boy has moved down since my last appointment and doctor said bag of water is bulging a little bit so if he decides to make a drastic move down again my water could break.

BELLY BUTTON IN OR OUT: flat....Steve loves making fun of it

WEDDING RING ON OR OFF:
still on and hoping it stays that way...I try my best to stay out of the heat and that seems to be helping

LOOKING FORWARD TO:
touring the hospital tonight with our birthing class. my mom and little sister starting the drive out to us this weekend. finishing the nursery. not being pregnant anymore and meeting our son.

Week 36 Update

Well now that we are moved (getting closer to being unpacked) and FINALLY have internet I can post another update (6 full days without internet is awful...good thing I still had my phone and could use some data to keep myself sane). Moving when you're 9 months pregnant isn't very fun......I literally had no motivation to pack/clean, so poor Steve did most of it. I'm happy that we are in our new rental house. It is actually fun to unpack and decorate because we can actually hang things on the wall and call this place our own for a while. We have our own garden in the back and I can't wait until the strawberries, raspberries, and grapes are all ripe enough to pick.
The baby's room is slowly coming together and once I'm in that nesting phase I'm sure it'll come together with it's finishing touches. The weather over here lately in Ontario has been good, but miserable. There has been sunshine everyday, but the temperatures are rising and it's been nearly 100 degrees for the past few days...and that is all that is in the forecast for the next few weeks. If I wasn't 9 months pregnant I would probably have a better attitude about it, but I literally am going to be keeping myself inside these next few weeks while I'm waiting for our baby to make his entrance into the world.

Finally onto the update after all my randomness and catch up on life lately.....

35 Weeks

36 Weeks

Our 3D image of our little guy..I can't wait to reveal our name we have for him! He had his arm in front/by his face again so it's not the best image but we can tell he has big lips. The tech said based off the 2D image he has a little bit of hair so far :) can't wait to find out what color it will be (I'm guessing blonde)!

36 Week Facts:

How far along? 36 Weeks 3 days

Countdown: 25 days!!!!!

Due date: July 28th

Baby's weight/size: About 6 pounds or the size of coconut/small watermelon

Total Weight Gain: 22 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Nothing but my leggings/skirts

Stretch Marks: yes :( have one on my hip, one right by my belly button, and some on my legs/thighs

Sleep: Good! We just got a new pillow top mattress and are loving it! This hot weather though is killing me and I can't really sleep without the A/C

Best moment this week: Seeing our baby during his 3D ultrasound today and finishing my last day of work yesterday

Miss anything: Being smaller/not so far along so we could have gone to Utah for our family reunion this weekend :(

Movement: Always moving!!! I think he is officially out of space in there.

Food cravings: Anything cold because it is so hot outside.

Labor signs: Had a few contractions yesterday....inconsistent though. My doctor said my cervix isn't completely opened, so I'm not dilated yet, but that could change any day.

Belly button in or out: Flat/level with my stomach.

Wedding ring on or off: On. As long as I'm not in the heat it isn't too tight.

Looking forward to: My in-laws stopping by this weekend and visiting on their way home from Utah, our 3rd week of our birthing class next week, and finally being all unpacked and settled in our new home.

Week 34 Ultrasound/Doctor's Appt. Update

I can't believe we have less than 6 weeks until we get to meet our little boy. As I have been updating my blog through my whole pregnancy, it has been fun to look back at my progression with this little boy growing inside of me. It is still hard to believe we will be a little family of 3 next month and it won't just be Steven and I at home anymore. I know I have talked up my pregnancy like it has been 100% perfect, but let me tell you things have gotten harder since the end of the 2nd trimester. I know it will all be worth it in the end and am looking forward to being this little boys mother.  I am spending as much alone time with my husband that I can, but I am also looking forward to staring into my baby boys eyes and snuggling with him. I know my role in life is to be a mother and I can't wait to finally hold that title next month.

It has been a fast pregnancy and feels like just a month ago we found out we were expecting and were telling everyone we knew. Over the past 8 months we have experienced so much.....we received our first positive pregnancy test in November > we saw our baby on an ultrasound monitor for the first time in December > we found out the gender in Hawaii in February > we felt his first strong kick (not just flutters) in March > now we are just waiting for his arrival into this world in just a little over a month.

34 Week Update

Ultrasound Facts from today's 34 Week Appt:
- Baby is head down, head facing back (perfect for birthing position)
- All limbs (arms/legs) are on the right side of my body (totally makes sense since I'm always feeling him on the right)
- Cervix is closed (not dilated)
- Baby is 46th percentile (average everything - not too big, not too small)
- Estimated weight right now is 5.3 lbs. (doctor said baby will gain .25 - .5 lbs/week til delivery so I'm looking at a mid 7 lb. baby - low 8 lb. baby at the most, based off baby's growth right now)
- Long legs

When the ultrasound tech was doing my ultrasound they said I was measuring at 35 weeks, but then they said everything was average so I'm a little confused. If he comes a week early, I'm fine with that, as long as he is healthy.

I was supposed to get a complimentary 3D ultrasound today as well, but baby was sleeping with his fist up to his face (not a good shot for pictures). I will get one at 36 weeks!
Here is the only good one they got from my 3D today....can't wait to see his facial features in 2 weeks!

34 Week Facts
How far along? 34 Weeks 1 day

Countdown: 41 days

Due Date: July 28th

Baby's weight/size: 5 lbs. 3 oz (estimate based off the ultrasound today)

Total weight gain: 19 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Nothing but stretchy/loose fitting clothes

Stretch marks: Noticed a tiny one on my left hip :(

Sleep: Pretty good still, just tossing and turning a lot during the night.

Best moment this week: Seeing baby Boyd on the ultrasound monitor today and Steve painting my toenails because I can no longer do them comfortably

Miss anything?  Fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes and being able to sleep without changing sides at least 20x's a night.

Movement: Still always moving! He had the hiccups during church on Sunday and it was the weirdest feeling in my pelvic bone area.

Food cravings: Banana Creme Pie (last night) and gummy bears

Labor Signs: Nothing yet. Still haven't had any recent Braxton Hicks Contractions.

Belly button in or out: In, but pretty much level with my stomach

Wedding ring on or off: On....my fingers get swollen every now and then, but not enough to take my ring off.

Looking forward to: Moving and setting up the baby room. Not working full-time in just 2 weeks, it'll be nice to put my feet up and get some rest before this baby comes.

Week 32 Update

I get to meet my baby boy NEXT MONTH!!! I can't wait to meet him, even though I have so much to do before he comes.

Week 32
My pictures are getting less and less attractive as the weeks go on haha

How far along? 32 weeks

Countdown: 8 weeks or 56 days

Due Date: July 28th

Baby's weight/size: Roughly 3.75- 4 lbs. and 16.7 inches long

Weight gain: 18 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Skirts, skirts, and more skirts! My selection is getting more and more limited and I'm repeating outfits more, but whatever makes me comfortable I'm going to wear it.

Stretch Marks: Nothing new still! Hopefully I can make it 8 more weeks!

Sleep: Still really good. Not too uncomfortable! I feel him every time I am laying on my side and I love it!!!

Best moment this week: Being offered the summer school position I wanted and finding a new house to rent where we will bring our little boy home to (the house we're living in was sold).

Miss anything? Being small and not huge!!! Fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes, being able to put on shoes comfortably, not being super hot all the time, being able to participate in summer things, etc.

Movement: This boy never stops moving!!! I can tell he doesn't have much room in there because I can always feel a super hard part on my stomach of where he is. Occasionally I can tell it's his foot or elbow, but other times I can just tell he's pushed up right next to my stomach and not tucked back. I'll push on his body sometimes and he'll move, but it's so fun to feel him so close!

Food cravings: Vanilla Yogurt with berries (I've had it every day for the past week)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really

Symptoms: Itchy stomach occasionally, always hot (how am I going to survive til end of July), and swollen ankles/feet/fingers. Haven't had any Braxton Hicks Contractions for a couple of weeks (I probably only got them because I was super stressed at work).

Belly button in or out: In still, it's getting closer and closer to just being flat with my stomach.

Looking forward to: Buying the rest of the things we need for our baby boy (dresser, bedding, diaper bag, bibs, etc.) and setting up the baby room in our new house! Also our birthing class starts at the end of the month and I'm looking forward to that.

Maternity Photo Shoot

I wanted to get some maternity pictures taken while I was around 30-35 weeks and we happened to be going to Rexburg, ID while I was about 31 weeks. I thought this would be a perfect time to get some taken with a photographer we love while we were visiting town. Paint the Sun Photography (Peyton Tanner) did our 2nd Anniversary/Graduation pictures back in November and we loved the way our pictures turned out, so much that we had to book with her again. Her prices are so reasonable and she's willing to work with any budget. We ended up doing a "mini session" and it was perfect because you can only do so many poses while pregnant and not have it be awkward.

We got our pictures taken this past Saturday and have already gotten all of our pictures back from her. Seriously, she's amazing! Last time we got pictures taken from her we found out the day after that we were expecting haha. Kind of funny, especially since those could have been our "announcement of pregnancy pictures." The weather was perfect for our pictures and we got some really great pictures. I love all of the green!

Here are some of my favorites from our photo shoot.

These are just a few of my favorites (the rest are on Facebook). I will probably have some more pictures taken by my sisters as I get closer to my due date, but love all of these.

Week 30 Update

10 weeks left!!!!!!! I can't believe it!! I have a feeling the rest of the time is going to go by really slow because I'm so anxious, but if I stay busy it will hopefully continue to go by quickly.

29 Weeks 1 day. So happy I still fit in my red jeans!

30 Weeks

It's crazy how much my bump changes each week. It also depends a lot on what I'm wearing, but it sure is getting bigger each week!

Week 30

How far along? 30 Weeks

Countdown: 10 weeks or 70 days

Total weight gain: 15 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Pre-pregnancy clothes are getting tighter and tighter so my selection of what to wear is going down....I bought some maternity leggings at Ross the other day and am IN LOVE with them! Even more comfortable than my maternity jeans!

Stretch Marks: Nothing new. Nothing on my stomach!

Sleep: I sleep like a baby every night and love my Sunday naps!

Best moment this week: Watching our little guy move around outside of my stomach during Sunday School. He was turning around or something because the movement was consistent for about 1/2 of class. My work also threw me a baby shower last week and I got a lot more things that I needed. The list of things to get for this little guy is really short and I'm so thankful!

Miss anything? Being able to put on/take off my shoes comfortably.......and garden. This spring I was able to plant a bunch of flowers and it is very hard for me to sit there and pull those weeds that are coming in now.

Movement: YES! Moving all the time. I feel him a couple of times an hour and when I sleep on my side I feel him kick so much!

Food Cravings: Fruit! I lost most of my cravings for sweets and replaced them with fruit and it has been so nice! I have noticed I'm eating healthier now and fruit is so good. I especially love making fruit smoothies/shakes.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Ate TacoTime on Saturday and let me tell you I am not going to be eating there again until after pregnancy.

Symptoms: Swollen fingers when I don't drink enough water or when we go on long walks.

Belly button in or out: In!!

Looking forward to: Going to Rexburg for Memorial Day weekend and camping!! We haven't been camping in 1 1/2 years!

Week 28 Update

I am finally in the 3rd Trimester and am hoping things continue to go by as quickly as they have been (only 12 more weeks)!!!!!!! Work has definitely been keeping me busy and I'm grateful for my job at the school.

28 Weeks

Week 28

How far along? 28 weeks

Countdown: 12 weeks or 84 days!

Total weight gain: 13 lbs.

Maternity clothes: Just the usual.....maternity pants, maxi skirts, and stretchy shirts.

Stretch marks: None on my belly :) Have been using cocoa butter lotion routinely throughout the whole pregnancy and it's helping :)

Sleep: Good :) still switching sides a lot during the night. Have been more and more tired lately so I try to sneak in a nap when I get home from work or take advantage of my weekends and sleep a couple of hours.

Best moment this week last week: I PASSED MY GLUCOSE TEST!!!!! I was really worried about this, if you couldn't tell...haha

Miss anything? Nothing really

Movement: He's moving so much more now! Steve feels him at least a couple of times throughout the day and it's so fun to see him get excited over his kicks. He kicked me so hard the other day while I was sitting on the couch and I jumped.....I was not expecting it......his muscles are growing fast I can tell you. I will occasionally put my hand on a certain part of my stomach where he usually is and he kicks back :) I LOVE IT!!

Food cravings: Italian food :) yum!!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender: Baby boy!!

Symptoms: Braxton hicks contractions (getting more and more painful). Pelvic pain and heartburn occasionally.

Belly button in or out: Still IN :)

Happy or moody: Depends on the day.....this student at work has been stressing me out a lot so it's making me a little more irritable.

Looking forward to: Decorating the nursery and spending as much alone time as I can with Steve before our our little "L" is here in 12 weeks!!!

Baby Showers

I don't know how I got this lucky, but I had 3 baby showers thrown for me for our little guy! Our little guy is so spoiled already and after having all of them I cannot wait for him to get here!!

My 1st baby shower was in Rexburg, ID (where I went to college) and one of my best friends, Kayla Greenwood, threw it for me! She put so much work into it and it was great to see some of my college friends for a weekend.

Kayla and I. I wish we lived closer to them in Rexburg! I was 21 weeks 5 days at this baby shower.

Cute little cupcakes!

Ignore me in this picture but I just wanted to show a picture of the good food!

Some of the girls at the baby shower!

My 2nd baby shower (open house) was in Ontario, OR (where we are currently living). A lady at my church said she wanted to throw me a baby shower before I started working. I wasn't expecting to have another baby shower until Seattle so I was very caught off guard and it was very nice of her to do such a thing.  A few ladies from my ward were able to be there and show up and it was nice to feel so loved from my ward. I didn't get any pictures from this baby shower and I'm regretting it. It was great though and I had a lot of fun.
This was taken after my baby shower in Ontario at 22 1/2 weeks.

My 3rd baby shower was in Seattle, WA a couple of weekends ago. My mother-in-law Brenda threw my sister-in-law, Cerissa, and I a double baby shower since we are both due on the same day! Steve and I visited Craig and Cerissa in Hawaii in February and they finally got 2 weeks leave from the Marines to come visit Washington. It worked out to have the baby shower on the 12th rather than Easter weekend so Steve and I made the 7 hour drive to Seattle for the weekend! It was so nice to see family since we haven't really seen any of them since beginning of January. I really wished we lived in Seattle, but Steve has a good job in Oregon Idaho (we live in OR but he works in Idaho) so I can't complain.

The baby shower was perfect and there were so many ladies that showed up (my sister Holly/sister-in-law Traci, Steve's sisters/mom, ladies from Steve's family ward, family friends, etc.). We had a light lunch and then Cerissa and I opened presents. I can now say I probably don't need any more clothes for our little guy as he has enough to last him through the 9 months mark. We got so many nice presents and I can't wait for him to get here in 3 months so I can use everything!
Yes I'm wearing my blue-striped dress again (it is the most comfortable dress I have ever owned haha)

My sister-in-law Cerissa and I both at 24 weeks 5 days at our baby shower. It is so weird how differently we are carrying our babies even though we are due the same day. She is carrying hers much lower than I am and has a little bigger bump than I have (we think her baby is gonna be a lot bigger compared to ours). It was a lot of fun to have a baby shower together since we have the same due date and we found out the gender on the same day as well.

I am beyond thankful for those that have come to one of my baby showers, who have given me a thoughtful gift, sent a card, or has supported Steve and I through this exciting time! I am so excited for these next few months to go by so we can meet our baby boy!

Week 26 Update

Well I am almost into the 3rd Trimester and can definitely tell you my appetite has skyrocketed and I am finally starting to gain weight faster than I was before. I love being pregnant for the most part and am still feeling great!
26 Weeks
This picture may not be very accurate because I ate a big lunch right before taking this.

Week 26

How far along? 26 weeks

Total weight gain: 10 lbs. :(

Maternity clothes: For the most part I am still wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes besides my skinny jeans. I haven't bought a ton of new clothes because I will most likely be able to get away with wearing my old clothes. I have been wearing a lot of skirts and dresses though because they are more comfortable.

Stretch Marks: None on my stomach still (thank goodness)

Sleep: I usually sleep pretty great at night, but just switch from side to side a lot. I have had A LOT of crazy pregnancy dreams (especially about going into labor)

Best moment this week: Steve getting his 1st job offer and feeling my baby boy kick more and more

Miss anything: Being smaller, fitting into my small, non-stretchy pre-pregnancy clothes

Movement: Moving so much more now, but still waiting to be able to see him move on the outside of my belly. I woke up a week or two ago to him hiccuping while I was sleeping. So fun to feel!

Food cravings: Carbs, carbs, and more carbs

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope

Gender: BOY

Symptoms: A few Braxton Hicks contractions (not super bad though), pelvic pain, some lower back pain (not as bad as it used to be), swollen feet/hands occasionally after long walks

Belly button in or out: IN!! Getting closer and closer to the surface, but still has a while til it could pop out. Maybe I'll be lucky and it'll stay in there

Looking forward to: Camping once it gets warmer!

Monday, March 31, 2014

Week 23 Update

Well I am 23 weeks today! It is weird seeing my belly grow more and more and what is also weird is having people now stare at my belly when they talk to me (not used to that yet) or people wanting to touch my belly.

Everyone who knows I'm pregnant asks me how pregnancy is going and how it has been and I can say 100% this has been the easiest pregnancy (not that I have been pregnant before, but it has been sooo easy for me). Yes, I have had a few hiccups here and there, but the pros outweigh the cons and I love being this little guys mother so far.

Ways this pregnancy has been easy:
      - No morning sickness (sorry to brag)....only a few episodes in the 1st trimester (enough to count on 1 hand).
      - Have only gained 3.5 lbs. so far (sorry to brag again)....this may be the greatest blessing so far because I've always been self-conscious of my weight and I was afraid I would gain a lot during pregnancy and so far so good (no I am not starving myself). I know it'll all be coming soon but I'm glad I'm not gaining weight in other places besides my belly.
      - No complications with the baby at all so far (crossing my fingers it stays that way)! Doctors/nurses are usually kind of thrown off in my appts. when I tell them everything has been perfect and I have no questions. My last appt. my doctor asked me at least 10 times if I had questions about anything or if anything has been weird or something bothering me with being pregnant and I said no every time.....maybe he thought I was hiding something, but no!

I'm sure there are a ton of other ways in which this pregnancy has been easy, but these are the big 3 that stick out to me.

Took this the other day after my 2nd baby shower here in Ontario

Week 23

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain: 3 1/2 lbs.
Maternity clothes: Yes! Finally bought some maternity jeans which are the most comfortable piece of clothing I've ever owned and I also bought some maxi dresses/skirts with some birthday money.
Stretch marks? None on my stomach.
Sleep: My daily 2-3 hour naps are about to go out the window because I started my new job today
Best moment this week: Starting my new job and feeling stronger kicks inside (haven't felt anything outside of my belly yet).
Miss Anything? Being able to button my old jeans and being able to bend over and tie my shoes comfortably.
Movement: Kicks are getting stronger everyday (I can now feel him everyday instead of just occasionally).
Food cravings: Sweet cravings are lessened because I'm nervous of getting gestational diabetes (which I DON'T want).
Anything make you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender: Baby Boy!
Symptoms: Lower back pain (hate this)
Belly button in or out? In
Looking forward to? Going to Seattle next weekend and having a double baby shower with my sister-in-law!!!

Week 20 Update: Half Way There

I am finally 20 weeks pregnant (as of this past Monday), which means I am officially 1/2 way there!!! I feel that this pregnancy has gone by really quick as I feel as if I just told people we were expecting! We had our 20 week ultrasound on Tuesday and it was so fun to see our little guy again! We do have a name for him but you are just going to have to wait til he is born to find out what it is :)

Here's our little guy with his hands up to his face

This one is a little creepy with his eyes haha but he's all cuddled up sideways :)

I got sick of taking weekly "selfies" so I finally asked Steve to take some pictures :)

20 Week Update

How far along? 20 weeks 4 days
Total weight gain: 1.5 lbs. from pre-pregnancy weight
Maternity Clothes? Not yet, a lot of my pre-pregnancy clothes are loose fitting so it's perfect.
Stretch marks? Nothing yet. I'm using cocoa butter more and more to hopefully lessen them
Sleep: About to get a little less as I will be working 30 hours a week at my new job at the school
Best moment this week: Seeing our little guy at our 20 week ultrasound and finding out he is healthy as ever and no problems
Miss Anything? Being able to sleep on my stomach in my sleep
Movement: Kicks/movement felt here and there, definitely getting stronger.
Food cravings: Nothing consistent but still anything sweet
Anything make you queasy or sick: Still the sound of fast food/deep fried stuff. I am no longer sensitive to smells which is good :) I can actually clean our fridge and take our the trash without gagging
Gender: Baby BOY!!!
Symptoms: Lower back pain, peeing more frequently
Belly button in or out? In and I don't think it's ever coming out haha
Looking forward to? My 22nd birthday next Tuesday and my baby shower in Rexburg next Saturday

SURPRISE: We're Having A.........

Today we found out the gender of our baby! We weren't going to find out til 20 weeks but we figured while we were here in Hawaii it would be fun to find out the same day as my sister-in-law since we are due on the same day. With their military discount we got a pretty good deal on a gender reveal ultrasound so we went for it. I for sure thought we were having a girl and Steve wanted a boy.

Steve was very excited to say the least!

Well SURPRISE: WE'RE HAVING A BOY!!!!!!

We were totally blown away when they told us in the ultrasound. I was a little disappointed at first because I was so happy to be able to pick out bows and headbands for a girl and dress her all girly, but I am a little happy that we will have a boy to protect our future daughters. And lets face it boys are cheaper in the long run, but maybe a little more mischievous.

In my family my 2 sisters have had girls first and my 3 brothers have had boys first so now I have officially broken the trend.....

During our ultrasound let me just tell you...our baby boy was not so shy about showing off his parts. He was flashing them and spreading his legs for all to see haha

Look at that little nose and cute lips!!!

Overall we are very excited to be having a boy and we can't wait to start shopping for clothes and stuff for our little guy!!!

17 Week Update:

How far along? 17 Weeks
Total weight gain: 0 lbs. from pre-pregnancy weight. Finally gained back those 5 lbs. I lost.
Maternity clothes? I haven't had to use anything maternity clothes yet. Jeans are getting a little more uncomfortable around the waist.
Stretch marks? Nothing yet.
Sleep: Not as tired as I was in the 1st Trimester.
Best moment this week: Finding out the gender of our little one!
Miss Anything? Boogie boarding and body surfing in the ocean.
Movement: Flutters here and there but no strong movement yet.
Food cravings: Anything sweet still.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The sound of fast food.
Gender: BOY!!!
Symptoms: Peeing 1-2 times in the middle of the night and occasional lower back pain.
Belly Button in or out? In
Looking forward to: Buying clothes for our little guy!

14 Week Ultrasound: Our Baby is a Squirmy One

While I was at my 14 week OB appt. I was just expecting to get a Flu Shot and requested to hear our little baby's heartbeat because I haven't seen or heard anything since my last ultrasound at 9 weeks. Little did I know that I would be walking out of the office with 3 little pictures of our baby from my 30 min long ultrasound! I told Steve he could just stay at work during my appt. because I had to run some errands in the Boise area anyway and my appt. wasn't going to be anything special (little did I know I would be getting an ultrasound). I was so sad to hear that I couldn't video any part of the ultrasound or take any pictures for Steve who was 30 min away at work. Luckily I was able to bring home a few pictures of our little one.

At my last appt. at 11 weeks they asked me if I would like to get tested to see if the baby had any traces of Down Syndrome and something else. I said yes if my insurance covered it, but they then checked up on it and said I had to be a little more than 11 weeks. I forgot about this until about 30 minutes before my appt. on Wednesday and thought they would be asking me if I would like this done since I was 14 weeks. Of course they asked me if I would like to get tested that day (the day Steve wasn't there). Steve has come with me to my other two appts. but I thought he would just be sitting there while I got my Flu Shot done.

I have to tell you that this ultrasound was so much different than my 9 week ultrasound. My 9 week ultrasound was very cool because I got to see our baby for the first time but there really wasn't a lot of movement from our little one. At my 14 week appt. our baby DID NOT stop moving!! Our baby was all over the place and was doing little jumps and stretching so much! There were only a few times where we saw the baby completely still. I even got to see our little baby suck it's thumb for a little bit and it was so cute to see it's little nose and lips. Our baby even had it's legs crossed (they better be wide open when we find out the gender). I wish the ultrasound tech would have sent me home with a pic of the face with the little nose and lips because Steve would have loved to see that. All of the pictures she sent me home with had the baby's face facing the other way. Here are the pictures I got to take home of our baby!
Face turned away but still can see how big our baby is!

This is a picture of the baby's back facing towards us. During the ultrasound I could see the spine and the ribs of our little one! It was so cool!

Our little baby waving at us. It's so neat how detailed ultrasound pictures are. I can clearly see each finger! The head of our baby is on the right. The left hand is waving at us and the right hand us just above where the fingers are.

I am so anxious to find out the gender of this little baby. After seeing it on an ultrasound for 30+ minutes I want to know what to call our baby (he/she). I will hopefully be finding out the gender at my 20 week appt. which is in a little over 5 weeks away!

Week 14: Baby Bump

I am finally in the 2nd Trimester as of last week and I can tell you I don't feel any different. This pregnancy has been a breeze so far and is going by VERY fast. I am only a few weeks away from finding out the gender of this little one!!!

14 weeks!!! Compared to my 12 week picture I look a lot different. I definitely was bloated or something because I actually look around 14 week pregnant (maybe a little bigger) in this shot. The weird thing is....everyone shows at different times and some show a little sooner than others. I know I'm not the skinniest of all people, but I can guarantee you this isn't all gained weight haha. There is definitely a baby in there.

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: gained 1.5 lbs but still -3.5 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight
Maternity clothes? Not yet but I'm sure I'll need them soon. I can't button my jeans without it being unbearably uncomfortable. I am getting away with the rubber band technique.
Stretch marks? Nothing yet
Sleep: LOVE, love, love my sleep still!
Best moment this week: Reading all of my Pregnancy magazines/booklets I've gotten
Miss Anything?  Being able to ski in the Winter
Movement: Too early.
Food cravings: Anything sweet!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No morning sickness!!! Strong smells get to me every time
Gender: Find out in 4-6 weeks! I'm still praying it's a girl!!! Steve wants a boy, of course.
Symptoms: Occasional lower back pain
Belly Button in or out? In
Looking forward to: Planning our babymoon to.....Hawaii for March or April!!!

Week 12: Pregnancy

Today I am 12 weeks Pregnant!!! It feels as if this pregnancy has flown by and I seem to be showing more and more each day. I am more than 1/4 of the way there and I can say that things have been very easy for me. I didn't get an ultrasound at my last appt. like I was hoping and it's looking like I'm going to have to wait til the gender reveal at 20 weeks or so.

Steve told me last night while cutting his hair that I'm getting a little bit of a belly. That made me happy that someone else noticed besides myself. I'm glad that it's all baby and not just me gaining weight haha

How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain: still -5 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight
Maternity clothes? Nothing yet
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: LOVE, love, love my sleep! It is getting harder to sleep at night but that's because I'm used to sleeping on my back and stomach.
Best moment this week: Picking out baby names
Miss Anything?  Not really, I can eat mostly everything
Movement: Too early.
Food cravings: Guacamole has become more and more lovable
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just when first waking up. No morning sickness!!!
Gender: Find out in 8 or so weeks! I'm praying it's a girl!!!
Symptoms: Lower back pain, fatigue
Belly Button in or out? In
Looking forward to: Hitting the 2nd Trimester next week

Well, I'm Pregnant.....

I'M PREGNANT!!!!! Steve and I thought we would start trying at the end of the summer so I got off the pill and waited patiently for my first period to come! Literally a couple of weeks later I took a pregnancy test because I was late on my period and surprise the test was positive!!!! We found out the day we left for the Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 22nd). I was ecstatic as you call tell by the pictures and Steve was as well! We went to Seattle for Thanksgiving and told Steve's Dad and Step-Mom and Steve's mom and step-dad! It was so fun to see how excited they were. I told my mom over the phone the day of because I was telling her all that week that I thought I was. I am so happy!!!! We are due JULY 28th 2014.

The morning I found out I was pregnant
We were so happy! I was screaming in my apt. at 3:30 in the morning!

(I took a test at 3:30 AM because they say first morning urine is the best and I had work at 4 AM)
Notice: Steve looks like he just woke up!

Week by Week Noticeable Symptoms and Changes:

Week 6 & 7:
- Super tired all the time: I could sleep all day!

- I can definitely tell something is inside of me.....weird to think but I know something is different and that is one of the first signs I knew I was pregnant.

Week 8:
- Threw up for the 1st time (I was cleaning the fridge when we were moving out and the smells were too overpowering).

Week 9 & 10:
-VERY tired again! Sleeping all the time.
- No appetite again.
- No cravings: will eat anything that has sugar in it that is right in front of me
