Logan's Blessing Weekend

Steve, Logan, and I headed to Washington this past weekend for Logan's church baby blessing. We chose to do it in Washington because we wanted a lot of family to be there. Steve's sister, Stephanie, just got home from her mission at the beginning of October and thought it would be convenient to do his blessing the same week as her mission homecoming talk. We also did a few other things while we were in town.

Logan loves car rides! He usually sleeps the whole time and only wakes up when he wants to eat. I sat in the back seat with him part of the way and he was all smiles at mom.

Craig (Steve's brother) and Cerissa (Craig's wife) were released from the Marines on medical discharge and moved to Washington from Hawaii about a month ago. It is so nice to have them closer to us now. Logan and his cousin Addie (Addison) met for the first time. They're only 3 days apart and are SO much alike.

They were looking right at each other and smiling.

I even caught Addie sucking on Logan's hand a few times :)

Hanging out with our babies

Logan all swaddled up on the couch

Saturday morning we went and watched Bryson's last baseball game for the season.

Saturday afternoon we went to Bob's Corn Maze and Pumpkin Farm. Dakota and Clayton (Steve's step siblings) both work there. Dakota was working all day so we went to go say hi and check out where she works. We started out by getting some roasted corn and hopped on the wagon to go on a hay ride. The hay ride dropped us off at the pumpkin patch/corn maze entrance. A couple of us chose to go through the corn maze and boy was it muddy!! Good thing I wore waterproof shoes that I could wash off because they were so dirty afterwards. Steve carried Logan in our baby carrier and he didn't complain really the whole time. We didn't take any wrong turns (thanks to our navigators). This corn maze is huge and took us about an hour to get through. Here is the view from above:

I love my little family!

Steve thought it would be funny to put Logan's face in the marshmallow.

Grandpa Larry and Grandma Fay (Brenda's dad and step-mom)

Brenda and Lonnie. I love my in-laws!

Saturday night we hung out as a family and played Apples to Apples and cards.
Sunday morning Stephanie reported to the High Council about her mission.

Logan and Addison were blessed on the same Sunday. Stephanie also gave her mission homecoming talk, so it was an all around great Sacrament meeting.

Some of the family that was able to be at church. My brother Shawn and his family also came to the blessing but were already in the car by the time I noticed they weren't in the picture.

The four of us with our babies!

Logan in his blessing outfit. Love his bow tie!

After church we had family over for dinner and socialization. My sister Holly and her family were able to come up from Seattle and my brother Shawn and his family who came to church were also able to make it. Stephanie served her mission in Chile so we had Chilean hot dogs (hot dog is topped with diced tomatoes, avocado, and mayonnaise) and lentils (beans) topped with hard boiled egg and parsley. For dessert we had peaches and cream and cookies that are popular in Chile. Everything was so good and gave me a little taste of Chile.

Shawn and Traci and their kids: Andrew, Jared, and baby Melissa (1 month). My sister took this picture earlier in the day at her place for my niece's birthday party.

My sister Holly and I.

Holly and her daughter Ella (it was her birthday and she turned 3) and Logan on the couch. He kept on kicking Holly in the hair.

My nephew Jared wanted his picture taken on my phone.

Holly playing with Logan.

After everyone left from the party we played some more cards and played Wii U.

Here are some more pictures from the weekend. Everyone loved holding Logan.

Grandpa Larry got Logan to giggle and smile a few times by saying "boo." It was so cute!

Craig testing out what it would feel like with twins

It was such a fun weekend with our family and I can't wait to go back! Logan was seriously a perfect baby the whole trip and hardly ever cried. I'm thinking he just likes Washington as much as his mom and dad ;)

Steve's mom followed us back to our house in Oregon and stayed with us a few days. It was nice having her here. She made us dinner 2 nights in a row and got a lot of time with Logan. We love Grandma Ticer!
