My Favorite New Mom and Baby Items

I've had a few expectant moms ask me about my favorite baby essentials and I thought I would make a post about it! These are just my essentials in my opinion. You may have some that work for you and that you love, feel free to tell me about them! Here are my top 9!

1. Aden and Anais Swaddle Blankets: I cannot say enough good things about these blankets! They are lightweight (aren't too hot to use in the summer), soft, and you can use them in so many different ways: swaddling, car seat cover, nursing cover, lap blanket, etc. This is the blanket Logan was swaddled in every night and they held him in so nice, but now he's gotten too strong and breaks out of it. We now use the Swaddle Me Wraps. He fights to get out of them before bedtime, but it's the only thing that works so he sleeps longer at night and doesn't wake up because of his startle reflex.

2. Boppy Lounger: I LOVE this lounger! It's actually my sister-in-laws, but she's letting me use it. I may just have to buy one of my own for future babies. When Logan was a little smaller I could always put him on this lounger and leave the room and he would stay put until I came back in the room. Now he is a little more squirmy and has to be watched when he's on this because he'll work himself off of it, occasionally. I also use it for tummy time and put him on it when I'm cooking in the kitchen/taking a shower. It's like a big pillow for babies and Logan loves it!

3. JJ Cole Camber Diaper Bag: Another thing I love is his diaper bag, I have the Navy Arbor one. It has a lot of pockets (inside and out), has a diaper changing pad, stroller attachments, and is big enough to fit all of Logan's necessities for trips. It's very durable and is easy to wipe off. I highly recommend this diaper bag.

4. Baby Trend Jogging Stroller: Baby Trend is one of the only brands I looked at for strollers/car seats and I'm happy to say I don't regret it. One of the things that stuck out to me about the brand is the car seat handle. It is so easy to carry and the jogging stroller is great on walks/runs. It's such a smooth travel system.

5. ItzBeen Pocket Nanny: We got this as a gift and it's been so nice! It keeps track of feedings, diaper changes, and sleep. All you have to do is push the button to start keeping track. It also has a switch at the bottom to keep track of which breast you started feeding on during nursing. We love this thing.

6. Nursing Pads: These are a MUST HAVE if you are nursing. Let me just say it...your breasts leak when you are nursing and it is really embarrassing if you don't have nursing pads. You just place it between your breast and your bra and they're not even noticeable. The good thing is your breasts adjust to your baby nursing so you don't have to wear them the whole 6 months or whatever you are nursing.

7. Lanolin Nipple Cream: This is another MUST HAVE if you are nursing. It is a lifesaver and definitely makes nursing a little easier. One thing I didn't know about breast feeding was that it was so painful the first few weeks. I almost gave up a few times, but this stuff saved me and I'm still going strong.

8. Medela Manual Breast Pump: I bought this breast pump a few weeks ago and it has been so nice. I have only used it a few times because I still want to exclusively nurse Logan. The only time I plan on using it is when I need to get away and leave Logan with Steve for a little bit. It's really easy to use and isn't as expensive as a electric pump.

9. Baby Carrier: We got this as a gift as well, but it is so nice and easy to use! Logan has his days where he is super attached and won't let me put him down and I just slip this on and he is happy! It will be great to use on hikes/outings where I don't want to bring the stroller.

What are your favorite baby essentials?
