We left on a Thursday after Steve got done with work and headed up for the night. Vancouver was only about 2 1/2 hours away from his parents place which wasn't bad at all. We made reservations for dinner at a place called Dark Table. You eat at the restaurant in complete darkness and the servers are all legally blind. We had a few people recommend it to us and it was such a neat experience. Our appetizer and dessert were both a "surprise" and our main course could either be picked from the menu or a surprise.
After we headed to our Airbnb for the night! It was so nice and quiet! It also had a great overlook of the city!
Friday morning we headed to go get breakfast at Cafe Crepe.
Seriously the best crepe I've ever had. Strawberry Cheesecake! It was so good!
The view of Vancouver from Stanley Park
Then we went and got some Gelato from Bella Gelateria! It was so good.
We got Chocolate Belgian Brownie and Salted Pecan. The salted pecan won and award for one of the top tasting gelatos in the world!
I thought these were so cool. They were painted silos just outside of Granville Island's public market.
Granville Island Public Market. There was so much fresh fruit, pastries, meat, macaroons, etc. I almost liked it better than Pike's Place in Seattle except it didn't have the fresh, beautiful flower bouquets.
Of course we had to get some macaroons. I didn't realize how sweet macaroons were. They were tasty and expensive, but worth trying! We brought some home to share with our in-laws for watching Logan.
It was a quick, quick overnight trip and we packed a lot in, but it was definitely memorable!
