Valentine's Day

Last Valentine's Day Steve and I were in Hawaii visiting his brother and wife. Oh what I would do to be back there again relaxing on the beach. We just kept things low key this year, since nothing can really top Hawaii.

I was planning on sleeping in past 9 o' clock, since I was sick and wanted to take the morning slow, but the baby had other plans. After I fed Logan I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't, so I played with him while Steve made breakfast. After Steve finished breakfast he sent me on a scavenger hunt before I could eat.

Clues were scattered all around the house including on the toilet, in the shower, on logan in his high chair, in one of Logan's books, in the fridge, and then on the kitchen table.

I came out to breakfast (waffles and bacon), flowers, a love note, and a phone charger case. My phone is always dead at the worst possible times so this was nice of Steve to get.
The rest of the day was relaxing. It's been so nice around here so we took advantage of the good weather and went to the park to throw around a frisbee. After the park we came home and made dinner. Steve grilled some steaks on the grill outside (grilling in February what?!?) and we completed the meal with salad, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and Martinellis.

You may be wondering what I got Steve for Valentine's Day....after looking at a bunch of things on Pinterest and picking at my brain I came up with the idea to give him a small gift at the beginning of each day and at the end of each day, the week of Valentine's Day.

Day 1: Monday
Morning - "Donut you know I love you a hole bunch." Donuts
Night - "You are my lifesaver." Lifesavers

 Day 2: Tuesday:
Morning: "I'm so glad you're my "macho" man." Doritos
Night: "I am nuts about you." Snickers

Day 3: Wednesday:
Morning: "I really dew love you." Mtn. Dew
Night: "I am hooked on you." Sour Gummy Worms

Day 4: Thursday
Morning: "You are the "star in my eyes." Starburst
Night: "You are my riesen to love." Riesen

Day 5: Friday
Morning: "Thanks for sticking by my side." ChapStick
Night: "Life would be unbearable without you." Gummy Bears

Day 6: Saturday
Morning: "You make my heart bubble over." Martinelli's Sparkling Cider

I'm so glad Steve liked it. He was like a little kid every day waiting for his present.....he now has endless candy in his desk at work :)

I'm excited to go out on a date this weekend (just Steve and I) while my sister-in-law Courtney watches Logan. We figured going out the weekend of Valentine's Day would just be hectic and all of the restaurants would be packed so why not go the weekend after when it won't be as crazy and when someone would be willing to watch our baby.
