Well I definitely got spoiled for my birthday this year by my sweet and considerate husband. My mom and I share the same birthday and it was a little different not spending it with her this year but we'll celebrate when Steve and I go back home. My birthday fell on a Sunday this year so we celebrated most of it on Saturday. We ended up babysitting Saturday morning a little and then we went to Idaho Falls to do some shopping and go out to eat. We went to Kohl's and I got a new dress. My dress selection has been limited since I've gotten married and I thought why not get a new dress. We basically got it for free because we had some gift cards. After we picked out a dress we went to Olive Garden in town! Olive Garden is seriously one of my favorite restaurants and our good friend Dan was our waiter (which we requested.) We were definitely spoiled. After dinner we ended up going to Stephanie's place (Steve's sister) and her and Cynthia (family friend of the Boyd's) gave me flowers and a birthday cake! It was soo good! I'm regretting not taking a picture, it was soo cute!
Sunday, my actual birthday Steve made me breakfast in bed (Pancakes, bacon, and eggs) and I opened my presents from him. Steve knew that I have been wanting a straightener for quite sometime now and he got me one, I love it and have already used it quite a few times now. We then went to church and then went over to Ryan and Paige's (brother and his wife) house for dinner. They spoiled me with Corned Beef and Cabbage and Cheesecake! My favorite! I always love St. Patrick's day being the day before my birthday because of the Corned Beef and Cabbage. We then played some games and ended my birthday. I am so grateful that I have family close by and they are just down the road.
Other exciting things going on now, Steve and I just passed our 3 months of being married the other day! Crazy how time flies by and I'm going home to Wisconsin with Steve in 6 days!!!! I am beyond excited to show Steve around and also see family and friends. I get to meet my newest nephew (Bentley) who was born 2 1/2 weeks ago and Steve also gets to meet Courtney (my sister-in-law) and Axel (my nephew) who he's never met before. I'm so excited to go home and get a break from work and Rexburg area.
I am going to have 2 jobs coming up this coming week. It may sound stressful but my job I will have this coming semester back at the Academic Discovery Center on campus had one of their student employees go home for gall bladder surgery so my Office Assistant asked me if I would want to fill in for her for the last week. So I worked out my schedule at the call center and I am going to be working on-campus 7:45-11 am and then the call center 11-3 and then other hours on night shift to get my 40 hours at the call center. I am soo blessed especially since we need a little money to get ready for next semester and for our trip coming up.
Last night I got to hang out with my old roommate Kailey (I roomed with her last semester/Fall.) She is getting married in June and I feel so sorry for her because she has to go through the long and dreadful time of long distance just like I did! It's almost over for her though because she's graduating! We got a chance to make pizza pockets with her roommates and then we watched a movie. It was good to catch up and hang out for probably the last time until she gets married. After that 3 of my married friends picked me up for another girls night. It's so great to have married friends because you all can relate to so many things. Following last nights girls night I'm having ANOTHER girl's night with one of my best friends Emily Marquez. She is off-track in the Spring and is going back home so I needed to get some time with her before it was too late. We plan on watching movie, smoothies, and popcorn while Steve is away at the Priesthood Session of Conference.
General Conference is this weekend and it's always great to hear the words of our apostles and prophet! I am already looking forward to the talks in the Ensign!
