Family in Town from Seattle

Steve's mom (Diana) and step-dad (Mark) came in town for the weekend to visit from the Seattle area. I was a little nervous at first because Boise doesn't have a lot to do and I didn't know how we would keep them entertained, but we found some things to do and everything turned out great.

Friday night Steve's work had a work party at one of the boss' homes and Mark and Diana joined us for some fun at the party. It included a BBQ, bounce houses, dunk tank, and minute-to-win-it games. Even though there are only 5 employees, there are lots of kids (12 to be exact) and it was fun for everybody. Steve knew they were doing water games, but purposely left his swimsuit at home so he would have an excuse to not be dunked in the dunk tank (I don't blame him haha). We watched kid after kid be dunked in the dunk tank and then enjoyed the BBQ. After dinner we played minute-to-win-it games with everybody and ended the night with ice cream cones. The party was a lot of fun and was perfect weather.

Saturday we took things easy in the morning and made breakfast burritos for breakfast (these are a staple in our house). We then left in the early afternoon for Boise and had a very filling lunch at Tucano's. Steve and I wanted to take Diana and Mark to a restaurant for lunch that isn't in the Seattle area and I think they were very happy with our choice. They loved it and we were all VERY full afterwards.

All of us at Tucanos in Boise

After lunch we had some time to kill before our plans for the night and we went to Boise City Park. Steve and I have never been to this park before, so it was kind of hit or miss if it was a good park, but we enjoyed it for the short time we were there. The park was full of people paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming in the water.

There were a couple of guys surfing in the canal rapids.

After going to the park for a little bit we went to Les Bois Park for horse races for the rest of the night. I didn't even know Boise had horse races until I talked to a co-worker at work and they said they were fun to go to. We decided we would take Diana and Mark to them. They were only $5 to get in and they ended up being a lot of fun. They started at 5:30 and there was a 20 minute break between each race. There was a total of 8 races and a lot of them were very close. Steve and I will definitely be going back again sometime this summer for another race.

It was such a beautiful day!

Before the races started.

Steve was eating sunflower seeds in this picture (hence the blank stare)

Not the best picture, but it was just the end of a race.

Another race

Here is a video of the last part of a race. Sorry for the not so good quality of the video.

Diana left me with a blanket she crocheted for our baby boy and I love it!!! I can't wait to fill this blanket with our baby boy next month!!!!

The weekend was so much fun with Steve's mom and step-dad! It'll be fun to see them again when they come out after the baby is born!
