Recent Happenings

Here's a little update of what we've been up to and how things are going....For those of you who don't know this semester I've been working at a call center in town. I've worked there in the past but I was dreading going back. The main reasons are: all you do is sit at a booth with hardly anything to do but listen to people complain they don't have time and hang up on you. Sometimes there are really nice people that just want someone to talk to, but that hardly happens. I work day-shift so lately I've been working 8-3pm Monday-Friday. When I don't get my full hours, I walk in on night shift and that usually is a little better because your calling houses instead of businesses and most people have more time. You can only work up to 40 hours which I've gotten twice within this past month! WOOHOO!! It may not seem like much but it's really hard to find hours in a small college town.

While I'm at work every day, Steve is either in class or at his internship. Steve is interning at a company called OpenBook. The company is in town so it's really nice for gas, but the down side of it is that it's not a paid internship...but hey it's experience for him. Steve has really liked it. They are a hotel marketing company and they re-write webpages, advertise, and so on to try and get more business for hotels. Steve has recently gotten into the advertising side of things and really likes it.

Aside from work and school, Steve and I recently just started babysitting two little boys. Our first day babysitting them was Saturday and let's just say Steve is so great with kids (especially boys). Joshua is 4 1/2 years old and loves Spiderman which Steve kept him entertained the whole time with playing pretend Spiderman. Caleb is 19 months and likes to follow around his older brother and also likes to shoot nerf guns. Overall it was a great time and I'll be babysitting them every Monday and Wednesday 4:30-6:30 and Saturday 11-2 (Steve will join me when he doesn't have too much homework.) It'll be interesting to see what I can come up with for entertaining them tomorrow because basically they loved Steve and were clinging to him the whole time. Kinda wished there was a little girl I could be playing dolls with or dress up haha :)

Aside from all this...Steve and I are doing well and keeping ourselves busy. We are heading to Wisconsin in between semesters to go and visit my family. Steve has never been to Wisconsin so I have a lot to show him. We are both getting ready to register for classes next semester. As far as my job next semester, I'll be going back to being a Receptionist on-campus. I loved that job and am so excited to go back and interact with students.
